Cingular v. Verizon for Guadalajara, Mexico

I will going down to Guadalajara, Mexico for a few months and trying to decide between Verizon and Cingular. I know Verizon works but it has less coverage than Cingular (according to maps) of North American Plan. How is Cingular for reception down there on North America Plan? Thanks

First of all, Welcome to Wireless Advisor!

I have never been to Guadalajara, but I have had a family member that was staying in town for almost a year and he uses Verizon. As far as I know he didn't have any problems with his North Americas Choice Plan there.
GSM networks do seem to be better built out there, but CDMA can work just fine depending on where you are going.

Do you have a cell provider right now or are you getting a brand new phone? One thing to do is to also make sure whatever carrier you chose has good coverage back home and has no roaming clauses, restricting the minutes you can use while roaming. I know for sure that Verizon doesn't have a clause like this and am almost sure that Cingular doesn't either, but someone else will probably be able to tell you more.
