I'm curious to know if GSM users in various areas outside the US and Canada use NITZ NITZ - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for automatic update of time and date. In my travels to the few limited places I've gone in Europe (NL and DE) as well as in Israel NITZ for automatic adjustment of date and time does not seem to be in effect. And just for reference I'm talking about standard phones not smart phones.
