Question European Electricity Adapter? Wont work with Nokia's Home cell phone charger? HELP?

I was wondering if anyone had any idea, why when using the european electricity adapter (220volt to 110volt) the NOKIA 6133 cell phone home charger will not charge the phone??? When I plug in my wifes curling iron, it will work, but when we plug in the cell phone, or even a camera charger niether of them will start the charge cycle??? I know that these chargers work on only exactly 110 AC, and if the algorythm is any shorter of a cycle or longer, perhap the chargers have a safety device that stops them from allowing current through?? I called T-mobile carrier and of course they are clueless. I havent tried nokia yet, but am going to shortly. I was wondering if anyone had this issue ever with their cell phones, or knew how to fix the issue?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

grambo71, welcome to WA.

I am sorry but I need to ask a question in reply to your question - Is there a reason why you are using a converter? To the best of my knowledge all tri & quad band GSM phones have chargers with input 100-240 v, 50/60 cycles, so they work seemlessly without a converter anywhere in the world. All you would need is an adapter for the various pin configurations.

Although I don't know much about digital cameras but the few that I am familiar with, also have the same input specifications for their chargers.

Maybe I am just not understanding your problem, so if you can please clarify.

Thanks

The 110v-220v converters require a minimum amount of power to work. The charger does not use enough power. But as the previous poster noted you should only need the plug adapter not the converter
