I'm currently in Singapore and have an LG Mdl. CG225 flip top phone. I think it's a 3 band phone. I have no problem direct dialing home (USA) numbers when SGP-M1-GSM shows connected in the display, though I limit my call duration and frequency. I plan to get a local SIM card, but was told by AT&T before leaving home, that locally purchased SIM cards would require a "password" from AT&T -- which I did not get before leaving home. Is this true? Can I get one online or must I call AT&T? Also, seeing as how "M1" supposedly has the more reasonable call time rates (as per internet research recently), plus the fact that I have no direct dial problems when I am connected to SGP-M1-GSM (presumably "M1"), I'm leaning toward purchasing M1's SIM card. Can anyone confirm or refute M1's being the best choice? Thanks to whomever can give me some reliable help. |

As Jay said you could buy a cheap phone from one of the countless cell phone shops in Singapore. You could also buy a used phone. Ask around your hotel for information on buying a used phone. The language options should include English for all Malay and Sing handsets.
