I have an iraqna prepaid gsm cell phone (owned by egypt based Orascom but just bought by another company last week). with it i can send sms to my wifes prepaid t-mobile DE phone in germany, and to my family in the states.

I can recieve sms from my family in the states, other iraqi cell phones, ipipi.com, but my wifes' text messages never reach me?

I was wondering if anyone knew why or could help with this situation.

Have your wifes Carriers reflash her phone for MMS. Sometimes if you dont have it set up right it will let you recieve but not send.

I had the same problem during OIF 3 I was stationed up at Qwest and was using an AsiaCell prepaid i could send and recieve to anybody but my wife and just had the phone flashed and it was fine. SMS used to much units so I just used Vonage and Skype.

Im surprised you can use a cell, When I was down in Bagdad they had Cell phone Jammers both there and at Balad. Good luck.
