Telus bids C$763 million for Emergis Thu Nov 29, 2007 8:47am EST OTTAWA, Nov 29 (Reuters) - Telus Corp (T.TO: Quote, Profile, Research), Canada's No. 2 phone company, said on Thursday it had agreed to acquire Emergis (EME.TO: Quote, Profile, Research) with a cash offer of C$8.25 per common share that values the electronic commerce firm at about C$763 million ($770 million). Telus said it has the right to match any superior offer for Emergis and its support agreement includes a C$15 million non-completion payment to Telus. The deal is seen closing in the first quarter of 2008. ($1=$0.99 Canadian) (Reporting by Susan Taylor; editing by Janet Guttsman)
