Thumbs down Bell Canada LG 325

Hi,

I am in the US, can I unlock my Canadian LG 325?
(I've searched around, can't find any interesting information).

It wouldn't do you much good unless you have Alltel. Sprint and Verizon won't activate it. They only activate phones they specifically sell. Sprint did carry the LG 325, but it was discontinued long ago. CDMA phones are not always locked. If it was a GSM network phone, it would be another story.

Whether Alltel would activate is is also another story. You'd have to contact them about that.

Thanks MM,

Is there a way of checking if it is locked?
(I mean without actually trying it).

Bell Mobility locks their phones, so I would say yes. Trying to unlock it would require a special program and a data cable, but you'd really have to know what you are doing, otherwise you will destroy the phone.

Since this is a discontinued LG phone, it wouldn't be worth it to go to all of the trouble to try and unlock the thing. You might end up spending more time and money than the phone would ever be worth.

I have a cable, for syncking contacts on my PC (the shop were I got the phone said I would not be able to sync without their expensive software... 1 hour later I done it, for the price of the cable... ).
And hell, I'm not using the phone anymore anyway.
How can I get the software and instructions?
