Default Sony Ericsson W810i

Greetings,
Closing in on time to buy a quad-band before an upcoming trip to Central America. After quite a lot or research online, I've narrowed it down to a few phones. My current interest is the Sony Ericsson W810i. Plemix has it for about
$428. My questions:
1. How is this vendor to deal with? I remember that the name came up in previous messages.
2. Anyone using this phone yet? If so, what do you think? I gets a "Highly Recommended" rating at Mobileburn, and the photos posted there are the best I've seen from a camera phone...
TIA

Hi there, I have ordered my last 2 phones from there the SE Z520i & the PEBL. It was painless and flawless. I ordered the Z on a Monday and got it Wednesday at 9:00 am . I ordered the PEBL on a Sunday afternoon and got it on the Tuesday at 8:30 am, both with standard shipping. My credit card was not charged until I got the phones.

The only complaint I have is that they ship Fed Ex and will only ship to the billing address and need delivery confirmation. So I either have to wait at home for Fed Ex to come or drive 10 miles after work to collect from the FedEx offices. This is a small price to pay since their prices are usually the best.

Thanks for relating your experience Charlyee.
I was on the verge of buying this cell phone there, but when I got to their shipping charges I was shocked. Cell phones are small and light, and should not cost $35+ to ship within the US. Also, they only accept Paypal. I do not have an account set up, and don't know how to get one started...
Anyone know an alternate venue to purchase this phone that accepts credit cards and charges a reasonable amunt for shipping?
TIA

Why are they quoting you $35+. Their shipping charges are $20 and $10 more if you want insurance. I didn't take insurance either time. The phones actually come from Hong Kong even though their expeditor is in WA. Actually opening a Paypal account is very easy and you can still use your cc for the charges.

The other place that I have ordered from that takes straight cc is mobileplanet. I like them because their warehouse is in Chicago and so shipping time & rate is lower. Their prices maybe higher though.

Thanks again,
I can't find a place on the Plemix site where they offer to ship for $20. The lowest option given is $31, uninsured. What am I missing?
Think I'll give Paypal a try.
Regards,

I ordered the Sony Ericsson W810i from Plemix, and it arrived last week, after only 4 days (including a weekend). Everything arrived in great condition, and the phone is excellent, thus far. Got a free sim through T-Mobile, with a prepay plan (no contract). Came with free 30 minutes/2 months. Reception seems good here in northern California.
After I have more experience with the W810i, I'll post a review, if anyone is interested in this phone.
