Default Spain pre-paid..

Howdy Y'all...

So looks like I'll be living in Madrid for a month this summer. Since I'm addicted to having a cell phone, I'll obviously be needing one for abroad. I'm a VZW customer and I'm screwed for roaming... So, I'd like to go the pre-paid route. I will be using the phone in and around Madrid with a few trips to Salamanca, Segovia, and Toledo. Just a few calls and texts a day... to folks in Spain but the possibility to SMS and/or call Abroad would be nice. I honestly have no clue where to even being looking... any suggestions or recommendations? Vodafone?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I have an Airtel SIM Card that I've had for over 7 years now I think and it has worked great for me wherever I was in Spain. Not sure how their rates compare to other carriers there now, but if I were you, I'd go with the one giving you the best deal, even if that's AMENA. They're a pretty new carrier but coverage in those areas should be great even for the lastest carriers.

So you're keeping it alive even you don't use it now?

Someone from our family will visit Spain every 1.5- 2 years so yes, we are keeping it alive. It costs us little to keep alive but will save us when we go there to visit.
