hey there, i just recently purchased a Samsung SCH-8500 and I am with a service provider calles Telus. I am not cell phone genius, but so far I am thrilled with the phone. The reception is great, and it doesnt take long to boot up. i had a phone with rogers (a nokia cant remember which one) and it took years to boot up. the cool thing about my phone is that it works in the basement too. someone told me actually that Telus offers one of the largest service areas in canada. what kind of phone do you have? hope this helps. sophie |

The v70 can be used in Canada, but I don't know if it is available by any providers there. The v70 can be used on the Rogers AT&T or Fido network.

First question: phone or carrier? In either case the question is hard to answer (For rural coverage Mobility carriers -- Telus, Bell, etc. -- are best) Second question: sure, on Rogers and Fido/Cityfone/Simpro -SC

I still think the LG TM520 is the best phone right now with Telus. But honestly I have not looked closely all phones and some of those Kyocera units look pretty fancy. As to the best provider, it depends on what you want. Bell / Rogers have the best overall coverage but I don't like them because they are big arrogant companies and don't are about the little guy (i.e. you.) But sometimes they are your only choice because of the coverage areas. If you can get Telus coverage, especially if you want pay&talk / pay as you go then this is the best choice. Telus has the cheapest pay&talk plus their wireless internet is just a flat fee and costs no airtime. I love it ... great reading news on the train ride to and from the office. |

Bell Rents Telus towers. Telus is still the leading service provider. However Telus is CDMA and the rest of the world is GSM so be careful buying. The v70 sucks, it's expensive and is only digital with no features for the price. |

Bell buys from Telus (mainly for rural areas) in BC and Alberta and Telus buys from Bell (again mainly for rural areas) in Ontario and Quebec... IMO the Bell/Telus relationship reminds me a lot of the Verizon/ALLTEL relationship in the US -SC (who also has a Fidomatic SIM too, but it isn't listed to the left because I ran out of space)
