Default Sim card , Starter kit

L.S. In september I will be travelling in eastern Canada (Quebec, Ontario, NB and NScotia) and the US (New England). I will arrive in Montreal at Laval airport. I have got a simlock free cell phone, triple band (SE T200). My question is: where can I buy a sim card and a prepaid phone card and at what price, a sim card that I can use in Canada and the US for calling to Canada and the US for a period of one/two months. I will not use the cell phone for long calls. Long calls I will make with a phone card from a pay phone. (It would be nice if I could send SMS's to the Neterlands, but that' not necessary).
In Holland I bought a starter set from T-Mobileicon, sim card (15 euro) and prepaid card (10 euro) for my cell phone.
    Kind regards,
    Thijs Notenboom,

The only provider with any GSM coverage in all the provinces you mentioned is Rogers AT&Ticon Wireless. You can buy a starter kit at any Rogers store -- tell them you don't want the phone, just the SIM (which will cost you CDN$25) and some time, which will expire after sixty days.

Unfortunately you will have to buy another SIM card in the US, because you can't roam in the US on Rogers prepaid. You also can't buy a prepaid SIM from any of the providers here in the US that will let you roam to Canada. Cingular have international dialling to the Netherlands for US$0.39 per minute plus your usual airtime charge (anywhere from US$0.10 to US$0.39 per minute). T-Mobile also have prepaid but it's not advertised. AT&Ticon have their "Go Phones" which you can buy for US$50 in any 7-Eleven store or AT&Ticon Wireless store. Coverage is not good on AT&T in much of New England, and in fact GSM coverage in general may be spotty.

Oh, and any provider will allow you to send SMS, usually for CDN$0.15 or US$0.10 per message sent. Just send it to the mobile number in the Netherlands in international format -- for example, (06) 12341234 would be +31612341234.
I can help you in English. Puedo ayudarle en español. Je peux vous aider en français. Posso aiutarli in italiano. Ich kann Sie auf Deutsch helfen. Я могу помочь вам по-русски.

In, Canada, just make sure that you go to the official Rogers AT&Ticon wireless store or else many dealers (eg. Radioshack, Futureshop, etc) will chargeicon you extra for "activation fee" or some other fee so you end up paying more than $25 for the SIM. And then get the prepaid airtime card at the local 7-Eleven, Futureshop, London ____s, Radioshack, Macs convenience stores, etc.
