Is there TDMA digital signal in Panama and Ecuador? Will a Triband GSM phone {GSM 900/1800/1900 work in Panama and Ecuador? Will there be GSM 1900 in Ecuador and Panama in the future.I see only GSM 850 in these countries.

In Panama, Bellsouth is running TDMA, but they are upgrading to CDMA2000. Cable and Wireless is running TDMA and GSM 850. TelCA runs GSM 900. As far as I know, Ecuador only has TDMA and Analog.

TelCA can't run their network until 2007, when the current duo-plony(sic) with Bellsouth(soon to be renamed Telefonica in Central and South America) and C & W ends and compititon is opened up. So for now, the only GSM phones that'll work in Panama have to have GSM 850 in them.
