I want to get a RAZR V3 in the next couple days but was wondering about something. I am out of contract. I read on different websites that it requires new activation. Is it possible for me to sign a contract (1 or 2 year) and apply the rebates? I do not want to change my service so i hope that it is possible for me to get that discounted price. Any advice or opinion would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, the pricing listed on TV, print ads and online is for new activations but you should be able to get a similar cost for the V3 by renewing your existing account. Your price will probably be more than new customers but remember, you won't have an activation fee and they will. Also, if you currently have a TDMA handset and TDMA plan with Cingular/AT&T you will have to change your plan to upgrade to the RAZR. Hope this helps.

Call Customer Care, and select upgrade equipment. See what kind of deal they will give you. If it's not all that great you can try going to a Cingular store or calling back and talking to another rep.

Black Razr

Silver Razr

I currently have a V400 and Nokia 3220 with Cingular (Both GSM). Is it possible to find out what the cost will be? Thanks in advance.

Those prices are only available for new customers. To upgrade your existing line you would have to go through Cingular Customer Service as Andy describes.

You can also check what your eligible for on Cingular's web site, just register and you will have your account info at your hands as well as doiing phone upgrades. http://www.cingular.com/indexc
