FYI, the google navigation app for the droid DOES speak the street names. TO confirm, watch the Engadget video review of the app.

I played around with it for a minute on a demo droid at a vzw store yesterday, looks pretty cool. I am still really uneasy about google maps right now though. Since they changed map data to their own info, a lot of it is inaccurate. Heck, in the engadget video review it even screws up.
I am happy with Sprint nav, at the moment.
