That sounds very odd. Take it into a local store and see what they say. I'm sure if it's new they'll figure out whats wrong and /or be be able to replace it for you. |

Call Sprint (I presume you are using Sprint) and have them walk you through manual programming of your phone.

If the OP is in Montana and attempting to activate a Sprint phone it may not work as Sprint only provides native coverage for travelers and doesn't allow actual phones and service to be established in Montana.
