    Default Verizon roaming in Taiwan

I arrived in Taiwan late yesterday. I turned on both my GSM phone (local SIM card) and my Verizonicon phone (frequencies switched to "A side").

As I was waiting for the bus to Taichung the CDMA phone rang. Wrong number from someone in the 215 area code.

Roaming is automatic and the voice clarity was excellent.

You're in Taiwan? Have a good time! Even if it's for business or pleasure...

But glad to hear that your phone is working. Did you mention to the wrong number that you're in Taiwan and they owe you $5?
Sem fronteiras... esse é como eu quero morar minha vida.

No, I never got that far. I got the impression from the brief conversation that I was not talking to the brightest light bulb in the pack.

What an odd place to get a wrong number--halfway around the world.

My boss is from Taiwan and he doesn't use his Sprinticon phone and roam over there. He wisely uses LD from the hotel.

He knows that LD from a hotel is reasonable in Taiwan. You do not get his with obscene surcharges like in Europe and the US.

I normally use my FarEasTone phone or the office land line while I am here.
