Default Storage on SIMS

I think that 250 entries on a SIM is not enough for my phone book.

I do not know about you, but I use my SIM as a phone book. I never Know when I am going to need a number from my past. I tell people to call me on my mobile and I need to call them back, I always add that last number received to my list. I do not save to phone as I have multiple instruments.

Think there will be a SIM with more than 250 phone numbers? Soon?

T Mobile needs it first.......

I've never really thought about having more than 250 numbers in the phone book, but in your case I could see where that would be beneficial. I usually keep all of mine in outlook at only have the ones in my phone that I use on a regular basis.

Perhaps the next batch of SIM cards will allow for more stored numbers. The next logical step would be to see 128k SIM cards down the road.

My phone book has roughly 2,500 names. Most have multiple phone numbers (office, home, fax, mobile) and email addresses.

Fortunately. I can sync all these names with Outlook.

When I use my GSM phones, I am always editing names and numbers. Even with a SIM reader, it takes time.

Hopefully, the next version of SIM technology will allow several thousand names, each with multiple numbers. Flash memory is cheap these days.

Wow that is impressive! I think with all the old names of people I don't talk with much anymore, I would only be up to maybe 1000 or so...

Bugwart travels a lot so I'm sure he adds a lot of new names from time to time
