I have AllTel, T-Mobile, AT&T prepaid phones in my possession. My Boost Mobile account is active but I returned the phone and didn't zero out that account! I have had the T-Mobile and AllTel accounts for 2 years and the AT&T for 3 months.

| That's because the question was about prepaid accounts. You are of course welcome to make a poll and ask whatever question you wish about accounts. 0 accounts would be a silly choice when you ask how many prepaid accounts you have unless you just like answering or participating in polls for no reason.

But I didn't answer in this poll because zero is not there. When it comes to the question "How many active prepaid accounts do you have?," my answer is zero. I can't say anything else because it would be false. What's wrong with zero?

| Tell ya what. Next time I make a poll asking how many prepaid accounts people have I'll put zero even though that's really silly. It's assumed if you don't respond you don't have a prepaid account. I can't see the point other than to let anyone participate in the poll even if it doesn't have anything to do with them. I didn't think people really wanted to participate in a poll if the question doesn't apply to them.

I'd be really interested in understanding why people have more than one phone active (assuming it's for your personal use..i.e. not for other family members). One phone for voice, another for texting, another for walkie-talkie? Cheers, PrepaidWirelessGuy Last edited by Charlyee; 08-29-2008 at 3:33 PM. Reason: Deleted link |

My two other prepaid accounts are foreign (the Netherlands and Israel) and I use those when I'm over there. The T-Mobile NL account only has to have a chargeable call every six months and the Orange IL I only need to add money (50 shekels) once a year which makes it convenient for me when I go to visit.

Three of them are glovebox phones. I have one in each car, so that I will never be without a phone, in the event that I forget my main phone. Two of them are strategically placed in my home. (I do not have a landline). They ensure that I can call home, in the event that my wife and kids forget to have their phones turned on. One of those phones has a number that was ported from my former Qwest landline in 2005, so I can still receive voicemail from anyone who still might call that number. I have one STi Mobile phone. The main purpose of that one is WAP internet access. It is less expensive than if I had it on my postpaid. One of my T-Mo phones is for receiving voicemail. By my choice I do not have voicemail on my main phone (AT&T postpaid), but on rare occasions, I want to be reachable via voicemail, so I sometimes set my main phone to forward to the T-Mo for that purpose. I also use that phone for the free T-Zone access. One more purpose of my PagePlus phones is to fill in the holes in GSM coverage when I travel to northern Wisconsin. PagePlus CDMA works in areas that are GSM deadzones. Bob233

Images: 157 | Same as KyleAndMelissa22. Zero is my answer. A question is posed, and that is my answer. What if I created a poll asking how many Motorola phones everyone had, and didn't include zero as an option? I'm sure there are lots of folks out there that do not have Motorola phones, just as there are lots of people that don't have prepaid service. -Jay |

4 active prepaid for me. Not counting the fifth active one because I got it for my sister as it's not being used anymore and will expire in January.

Thanks for the info for those who have responded. It's very interesting to see the different uses. Makes complete sense. Sounds like a pain to keep everything charged though ;-). Cheers!
