Which technology has the longest battery life, on average? I know GSM has alot better battery life compared to WCDMA (not sure of the reason: soft-handovers and RAKE receiver? a more complex technology needs more processing power?) ...how does CDMA and iDen stack up? is CDMA battery-life better or worse than GSM, on average?  ...of course "your milage may vary" comes into play here as not all phones are created equal, but I'm just interested in feedback in general terms.

With GSM/UMTS/HSDPA I have found it depends on your usage. GSM/GPRS/EDGE has longer talk times UMTS/HSDPA has longer standby times. I have noticed that most often equivalent phone models will have longer battery life with their GSM/UMTS versions than their CDMA models -Jay
