Here are a few points:
  • Most CDMA phones are unlocked. Sprint is the exception.
  • KDDI Au, CDMA phones have the 800 MHz Tx and Rx frequencies reversed compared to all other 800 MHz CDMA networks. This is a hardware, rather than a hardware issue.
  • SK Telecom uses a unique frequency allocation, but all there phones include a software setting which allows them to be used on other networks. They do not use ESNs to identity their phones and this is a system issue rather than a softeare issue.
  • You likely will need ESN changer software which allows you to change the ID of an "off system" CDMA handset so that it will register on the system for whcih you are setting up the phone.
