| Pimpin the Tilt! | Make sure Rogers or where ever you got the phones from have them unlocked. You could also consider net10 and just pick up a couple of their phones from just about any discount store you can think of.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413 es70) If you are bringing two unlocked GSM phones, they should support the 850 & 1900 MHz bands if you want reasonable coverage in the states.

Like the one said in the earlier post, just go get two prepaid sim cards. ATT should cover you pretty much all up in that area.

Be aware that your tri-band phone won't work on 850MHz, so it may not work too well with AT&T if you pass through areas where ATT is 850 only.

Canada also uses 850/1900, so the triband that the OP is referring to could be 850/1800/900 like the V3xx, the Nokia 6230 etc are.

Ah that is true, I forgot about that. I didn't think anyone still made tri-bands like that. Ain't it funny how moderators can post in closed threads...I think I will open it back up, provided everyone can play nice.

He's coming from Canada. Odds are that the triband that he would bring would be 850/1800/1900 not 900/1800/1900. And just 1900 would work just fine if he used T-Mobile.

There are lots of tribands 850/1800/1900 that are available in North America.

Remember ATT doesn't allow prepaid to roam so if check both ATT for GoPhone coverage and T-Mobile as T-Mobile might get you better coverage through roaming (depends where you will be).
