Default Dead Zone : What to do ?

Hello.

I live in Holmdel, NJ. It is a densely populated area in the New York suburb. Until recently, Holmdel had a huge Lucent corporate office. Nearby, Vonage has its headquarters and AT&T has a reserach facility. Yet, I cannot get cell signal inside my house. I have tried all of the providers: Verizon, AT&T and t-mobile. My house is at the end of a driveway and so, this may be why I cannot get a signal.
Is there anything that I can do ? This is ruining my business. Thanks in advance.

If there are NO other providers, you might try T-Mobile's Hotspot@Home. I assume since you tried them, they had decent coverage in your area elsewhere.

Basically, you'll need broadband internet and wi-fi set up in your home. Then you'll need a UMA capable phone (T-Mobile sells a few). It will use either your plan minutes, or you can pay an extra $10/month to get unlimited calls through your wi-fi.

If you just have a weak signal, there are a couple repeaters available in the $300 range that will work theoretically for any carrier.

I recommend T-Mobile at home as well... It's a very cheap alternative. Repeaters are a good option as well but they are a bit pricey.

Perhaps you could move?

Have you tried checking online with their map coverage, I know here where I live, sometimes they say they have coverage, but there's none at all when you actually go there and try it. Also, are you able to get signal at the other end of your driveway? If you do, you might have to get a repeater. Maximum Signal's are the best from what I heard. If all else fails you can do what everybody said and get the T-Mobile Hotspot@Home.

I have the same problem with the Sprint signal at my house so I am changing over to Verizon later this year. But the obvious solution to me is the one I use: I kept my land line. Some providers will allow you one number service which lets one shift the number to the land line at home and back to the cell phone elsewhere.
