I was on the understanding that you can change plans at any time, but may have to extend your contract if you are under a certain time left on your contract. I changed our family plan from 400 minutes to 800 minutes this summer. I was planning on changing to the new 1000 minute plan. Well, here's the problem. My sister and her husband went to the corporate store in Johnson City, Tn, to change their plan this week. They told them that not only could they NOT change their plan to the newer one, they could not go up or down in minutes either. After hassling them, they finally let them go from the 400 minute plan to the new 500 minute plan. They had wanted to go to the 1000 minute plan. What's the deal? |

Hmm......that doesn't sound right. I would point this out to the store for Verizon. According to Verizon Wireless's Worry Free Guarantee: Worry Free Guarantee You'll enjoy America's best, most reliable wireless network. You have the option to change to any qualifying calling plan or airtime promotion at any time. You won't pay any additional fees to change plans. Some calling plans require specific equipment. You become eligible to take advantage of equipment upgrades at promotional pricing during the last two months of your contract period. If you are not upgrading equipment within the final 2 months of your contract, you may have to pay full retail price. Promotional offers will require an extension of your Customer Agreement. If you ever have a problem, it becomes our problem the first time you call. No run-arounds, no hassles. If your issue can't be resolved during the course of your first call, we will take the responsibility to get back to you with an answer. Your satisfaction is guaranteed on any equipment you purchase from us. We provide a 15-day satisfaction guarantee on any product you buy from us. You pay only for the service you've used. See Return Policy for details. You'll get a free phone every two years with New Every Tw. Sign up for and maintain 2 years of service on a digital plan of $34.99 or higher to qualify for a free phone (up to $100 value), or receive $100 towards the purchase of a more expensive phone, with a 2-year renewal. Welcome to WA transammanv8.

Call 611 then, I always change plans through Customer Service; also, you only have to extend your contract if the new plan you're going on is a new promotion, meaning if you switch plans within their current promotions you will never have to extend your contract.

There is obviously some sort of misunderstanding between the reps and your sister/bro-in-law.

Does the current 500 AC FS plan for $50 + $9.99 per month count as a promotion or could I switch to it w/o extending my contract?
