still can make calls on vzw network, but i got one question, took an un activated phone and forced it in roam, got this error message "We do not reconize your moble number as an autherized user, if your a new customer and receive this recording in error, dial 611 for support....." any one know what company this is? because i can get 4-6 bars with these guys most the time.
that error message would be good ole att

Default Re: Is your local Analog cellular network turned off yet?

channels are different per market as there are 2 cellular bands for analog both A Band and B Band, a few of those are A Band channels

my company uses 300's for Analog control and voice channels and 900's and 1000 are TDMA

Once you go to GSM or CDMA these channels are not longer relevant.

How do keep getting batteries for those phones?

I am running a old tracfone 1221 it gets AT&T TDMA fine

Analog is still on here in LA, 655am. Both att and vzw are on.

The brick is ni-cad batterys.

Im thinking you maybe the site thats covering you is a sector site. The cdma is on 3 sectors and analog is on omni antennas. You may be outside verizons licensed area so there are no cdma antennas pointed your way.
that was just a though.

I think ATT's already shutting down. I powered up the DynaTac today and on the A side when I tried to call 611 all I got was a high pitched tone. On the B side I got a Verizon Wireless message.

Oh, almost forgot, DC area...

Well it looks like ATT TDMA and AMPS are still alive and kicking. I was not able to get my test phone to lock onto a vzw signal. Im not sure if I have the phone set up wrong, or the signal is just not there.

It is a national holiday so they may be going slow. Although, the day is not over.

I did notice that the analog signal has dropped a lot since the morning. Could be going off 1 tower at a time.
