Default Is It Actually Possible to Connect a Motorola V3m?

I have installed VCAST from Verizon. When I connect my phone to the computer:
1) the phone says "unauthorized charger";
2) MS Windows plug and play says attempting to install;
3) attempts to install "Motorola V3m" and fails there.

Here is what I have done:
A) I have tried the same on three different computers (all MS XP SP2);
B) I have replaced the cable;
C) I have replaced the phone;
D) I have installed the latest driver from the Motorola web site.

All to no avail.

When I purchased (and when I replaced) the phone, those nice people at Verizon assured me that the phone would connect to a computer, and that would be easily demonstrated if I purchased the VCAST software.

I regret to report that both Verizon and Motorola "support" have been totally useless.

Any insight to this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Default Re: Is It Actually Possible to Connect a Motorola V3m?

I just installed the drivers from the CD. I didn't bother with the other stuff that was on the CD.

But when I first did it, I did install I think it was WMP from the disc. And that REALLY screwed up my computer and I had to do a system restore. Maybe try just installing the motorola drivers from the VCAST CD?
