I purchased a Motorola A780 last year and it permits unlimited (up to SD card space) video and voice recording, in call included. However, it busted and I am unable to charge the phone anymore through the mini-USB port and refuse to purchase another one due to this issue. I would like to know of another model, any make, that has the same capabilities as the A780. Most current handsets have a time out function of 30 sec to 5 min. and this is useless to me! I want total control over video and voice recording time. Must work in-call and as a meeting recorder as well. I do not want to have to cart around another device to record all legal conversations. I would prefer a PDA phone, but will take what I can get at this point. I have T-Mobile, but any SIM card capable phone that can be unlocked will work! Thanks for your help! |

Are you sure any Moto will have this feature, bc my brother has the KRZR and he tested his voice notes and they time out after 3.5 minutes (even states this in the info portion of his phone). He also does not have the ability to video for an undisclosed amount of time. Could it be only the PDA style Moto's that have the features I am seeking? I also looked at the MDA, but a review written on CNET states that the voice recording option is only one way and does not record the other person's voice, in-call. I like the A780, but not enough to pay another $200 bucks for a new one! I'd prefer a newer model phone with a qwery keyboard, instead of just the touch screen only option. As for the charging port, I'm unsure why I can charge the battery with my mini USB to my computer, but mot with my car or wall charger? I actually have to push really hard and lean into the charger against the phone to get it to start charging and not even taping it down works anymore! Thanks for the help. |

RAZR original V3 does not have this recording capability; as I said, I've had 3 of them. I might have suggested the LG enV VX9900, but I believe those are exclusive to Verizon, which carrier is not SIM based. | |

Thank you. Do you know of anyway to fix the USB issue or is it toast? Would there be a reason it charges on the computer USB, but not any other? It's really strange! |
