Guys I would really appreciate any help with this topic. I have called the cingular (AT&T) customer service many times and they have been of no help. Ok, so I went over seas this summer and bought a brand new Nokia 8800. Its a triband phone so I was certian it would work here in america. But instead I recieve very little service. In some places of town i recieve full strength, but then in some places, like where my house is located, I get no service whatso ever only on acouple rare occasions I get 1 bar. So I try to call the customer service and all they can do is trouble shoot my phone. I'm thinking this has something to do with the frequency my phone can read. Please post your comments and thoughts about this, any help is appreciated. Thanks Ps. Does me living in Texas have anything to do with it? And if anyone finds out the problem, is it possible at all to fix it? I really love this phone, and it cost me alot of money. |

Unfortunately your 8800 is useless with AT&T. Most of their network is on the 800 band. T-Mobile is the only major US carrier utilizing the 1900 band, though they do offer roaming on the 800 band in certain markets. There is no fix for this situation unless you change carriers.

Your best bet is sell it on Ebay, AT&T won't help since they didn't sell this phone that's why they weren't able to help you.
