    Default Global Broadband Card, Verizon

I have added a global broadband card (XU870) to my already existing domestic broadband account with Verizon Wirelessicon. After a two week trip to Australia, I have managed to rack up very high data usage charges (nearly $8000). My office uses an Exchange Server, and I receive many SPAM e-mails and other large e-mails each day. Now that I have seen how quickly the kilobytes add up, this card seems too expensive to even use. Has anyone else used this card overseas and had a reasonable bill? I don't see how I can continue to use it at this rate.

Roaming data rates with ANY carrier will be just as expensive. Your best bet is to see if any local carrier overseas can sell you prepaid access for local use, or simply pay for WiFi access at the hotels, etc. It's far cheaper.
