You can look them up at www.antennasearch.com, all you have to type in is your address and it will give you a 8 mile radius of most cell sites in your area.

I've used the site in this link a few times to find towers that are in my area, but, they do warn ahead of time on here that not every antenna is required to be registered with the FCC. Most of the towers are listed, but not all of them. Cell Phone Tower Search - Cell Phone Service and Tower Search

This site wont exactly tell you who is on what tower. A lot of companies rent tower space from each other as well as rent from tower companies. You may see an American tower down the street from your house, but it may have only Sprinticon or AT&Ticon. Buildings and Water towers wont show up as well.

You could always drive up to the gate and see who ownes it and what the FCC # is and look it up that way.

If you happen to be in the So. Cal area you won't find most cell sites on those web site searches because most are not in tower form here. Most are building/rooftop or disguised sites on lightpoles, etc.

Larry, I found one part of CA. in this link that does list where the cell sites are.

I don't see any reason why they can't list where a cell site is located, even if it isn't located on a tower.

It's missing many sites that I know about so it's far from complete.

Maybe those are the sites that are not registered with the FCC. There are just so many cell sites out there, I don't see how any cell site locater could ever give a complete listing.

That's what I was talking about. Very few cell sites have to actually be registered with the FCC and even fewer 1900 Mhz sites.

I think Nextelicon iDEN sites have to be registered with the FCC; I have always found Nextelicon sites pretty accurate on the FCC database.

All Nextelicon sites that have antennas on the facility have to have an FCC license for that location.

I'd be damn'd near impossible considering most carriers consider their actual tower locations to be company confidential. A lot of engineering goes into the final location and desired coverage patterns.

While it's not hard to do some reconnaissance on your fellow carriers you don't want to dump all the data right into their lap.

Doesn't there have to be some kind of public record stating the radiation levels are safe?

In most countries, sites have to be registered with the govenment, and info made public on request to prove they are radiating within safe limits (usually with the exception of micro sites)

The local government will know about it but not really announced to the general public. My company has a few locations that you would not even know about unless someone told you.
