Default BT with ALLTEL's Wireless Internet

Has anyone had experiences with accessing a Wireless Internet connection through a BlueTooth connection as opposed to USB plug-in? Also, any recommendations as to BT device for my desktop PC. I was thinking of a USB type BT device for dual purpose between desktop and laptop.
