http://members.dandy.net/~czg/search.html This is one of the most useful sites I have ever come accross for finding out prefixes available in specific area codes. You can search information a variety of ways.

| I wonder if they update those to account for people that port their numbers.

| Awesome links! I don't have a daily use for this, but I think most of us want to know sometimes what carrier someone is on. Especially when you are talking to them and they are dropping calls left and right! |

| In Use Now: HTC Tilt | Many times you can just to to Yellow Pages : Superpages Yellow Pages, Maps, Driving Directions, Weather... and click the link for "reverse lookup". It never gives the name, but it always gives the registered carrier, and city that the number is based from. -Jay |

The question was how can one identify a carrier by a phone number. My answer was you can go to the wireless amber alert site with that phone number. You put the number on there and then it can tell you what carrier that number is associated with. Yeah surely it is to sign up for wireless alerts but it doubles as a carrier identifier as well. You don't have to sign up for those at all. Does this answer your question or do I need to explain like your a fifth grader? | |
