Your phone should have a Call Forwarding option. All you need to do is enter the number you want your calls forwarded to (your Sprint number, for example). Follow the intructions and you're done. Refer to your phone's owners manual if you need to.

It doesn't matter what number you forward calls to. Call Forwarding doesn't discriminate by carrier or phone. Though the process of CF from Sprint to T-Mobile works a little differently. This is because of the technology differences between T-Mobile (GSM) and Sprint (CDMA).

You should note that unless you are doing this on nights & weekends minutes will be deducted on both phones, so you're paying for the call twice.

T-Mobile has two different types of forwarding. Conditional and unconditional. Unconditional is the same type of forwarding you have at home when you key *72. Unconditional forwarding takes from your regular minutes either for anytime minutes or night or weekend minutes. Conditional forwarding draws minutes from a 500 minute forwarding "bucket."

To do unconditional forwarding key **21*+1(area code/number)#

There are many types of conditional forwarding

**62*+1(area code/number)#

**61+1(area code/number)# for no answer

**67+1(area code/number)# for busy

It should also be noted that if the T-Mobile account is a prepaid, call forwarding is not available.

If your talking about the T-Mobile to Sprint forwarding, you just go into the call forwarding option, usually in settings somewhere and "deactivate" or "cancel" it.

From Sprint to T-Mobile, you'd have to check your owners manual. I'm not sure how they do it, but it's not as easy as it is on the GSM (T-Mobile & AT&T) side.

Welcome to Wireless Advisor, by the way...

Use your phone's menu or key #21# for unconditional cancel. For cancel on unconditional all key ##004#. For cancel forward/no answer ##61#, ##62# for unreachable or ##67# for cancel on busy forward.

Back in my old TDMA days when I had those codes to activate/deactivate call forwarding I used to have it stored in my phonebook. I had stuff like "Call Forward Home", "Call Forward Work" and "Call Forward Cancel" all programmed into my phone so I didn't have to remember it.

Nice idea. I wish I had thought of this when I used to forward my Verizon lines some years ago...

A big difference between forwarding both with IS-136 "TDMA" and CDMA is that there's only one kind of forwarding, unconditional forwarding just like you have at home when you dial *72. GSM forwarding will let you be specific and only forward for a certain thing such as doesn't answer, not available or busy. For T-Mobile at least you get 500 minutes of free conditional forwarding per month. I don't know if AT&T distinguishes between conditional and unconditional and whether they bill differently for the different kind of forwarding. I'm not sure either how AT&T bills for forwarding whether it's taken as a minute of regular air time or whether there's a "forwarding fee."

I believe it comes out of your pool of minutes. I haven't used call forwarding in a very long time, but when I used to that's how it was billed.

For some reason I want to believe that AT&T changed the way they billed for forwarding. I think they did it slightly differently on the IS-136 "TDMA" side and when they went to GSM used a different pricing policy.

With AT&T any kind of forwarding comes out of your minutes. As long as you have the minutes

Yeah. Back in the old TDMA days I did not have service at my house, and the service inside my office was marginal at best. I used to activate call forwarding when I was expecting an important call. I haven't needed to do this since I've migrated to GSM, because by the time I migrated to GSM the GSM footprint was larger than TDMA, and my coverage increased immediately to the point that I did not need to forward my calls anymore. I really only use call forwarding now on the extremely rare days where I forget and leave my cell phone at home. I call customer service and ask them to forward my calls, usually to a friend's cell that I'm with that day.

Telekom, thanks for the clarification on conditional and unconditional CF. I have to admit I never really understood what it meant. Now it makes sense. I have noticed the conditional CF options on GSM phones (T-Mobile specifically).
