Default Introduction to Phone Web Browsers

The article that Andy posted "Email and Weather Tops for Wireless Internet", contains some interesting statistics on phone Web browsers, including that Openwave is the most popular. I wondered which phones use this, and after a bit of poking around, found the following. It's not written in the most mature style, but it does have some valuable information. The comments and the author's responses to them are also interesting.

And we can see from WG's post that the LG CU500 uses the Obigo browser from Teleca of Lund, Sweden, which the above article calls "a very respectable solution".

My V3m, through VZW, is using the Openwave v6.2.3.

When I called and asked about getting the newest version, 7.1.x., I was told 'not at this time'.

Hmm. Nice to know my first browser is their worst. I'm VERY new to this type of cell phone (Motorola's Razr) and of course didn't even think there is better browsing to be had out there. Oh well. This will do for awhile.
