Default Question about buying transflash card from ebay..anyone done this?

Hello all

Hey I just wanted to get some opinions or feedback about buying a transflash card from ebay.
I can get one for 24.99 plus 15.00 for shipping
1GB mini sd transflash card Sandisk brad

That's about 40.00 dollars instead of the 80 that best buy wants.
I know according to motorola they only recommend up to a 512 MB on mine...but I have read notices by others that the 1 gb does work in there 360's... but only registers like 9200MB or something like that.

Has anyone ever bought a transflash card from ebay???
I've been looking at 512mb too, but they end up being just as expensive...so I might as well go with the bigger one.

Thanks for any and all help

I haven't puchased one off ebay, but I purchased my 1GB SD Card off a site called PriceGrabber dot com. It'll show comparison prices for what your looking for, & you can pay by paypal!!! HTH!!!

Okay thanks for the info. I'll be sure to check it out.

On average how many songs will a 512 mb card hold to a 1gb size?
My 64mb only holds like 12 songs and like 10 or 11 clippits of ringtones that I have on it.

I want to make sure I get a big enough one to be happy with it's size capacity.

Thanks

To my knowledge, I thing a 1GB card would hold 250 songs considering a 4 minute average song length, but I no rocket scientist, so you may wanna double check this...

I have bought a few memory cards off eBay. Never had any problems with them. They always came as described, and I saved a few bucks.

How much a card can hold depends on the sample rate of the mp3. I rip all mine at 128, at this rate it equals a MB a minute.

Okay..thank you. I was just scared I'm going to get some cheap piece of plastic or something that only resembles a transflash card! I think 40 dollars is rather cheap for a 1gb card......

As long as it is Sandisk brand it shouldn't make any difference where you buy it from. What matters is if your device will support it. I use a 1GB transflash that I got from Ebay and it works perfectly with my Motorola V635.

One thing I need to clarify is that "Mini SD" and "Transflash" are not the same thing. They are two different types of cards. The "Mini SD" is larger in size than the "Transflash" and will not fit your phone. The "Mini SD" is used in some smartphones and PDAs but not in regular phones. The "Transflash", which is also known as "Micro SD" is the one being used in several phone models and it is more expensive than the "Mini SD." The only reason I am mentioning this is because you wrote "1GB mini sd transflash card Sandisk" and I am thinking there is a confusion there as they are not the same thing. Also, I don't think you can find a 1GB transflash for $40 on Ebay. Seems like a scam to me or a misleading or incorrect auction title. They cheapest you can find a real 1GB transflash is around $60 right now. Make sure you buy the correct card.

Thanks for the link. I did a separate search on Ebay and for some reason they don't come up at that price. Good for you!

Default Re: Question about buying transflash card from ebay..anyone done this?

I bought a 1 GB transflash card off of ebay this morning. I covered my bases (I think)....I actually emailed a few people from ebay who had boughten from this buyer (99.4% positive feedback) and asked about their cards..if they were okay, etc. They emailed back and said it was okay...and everything was great. So I took the plunge

Now the question will be if my phone will accept it, but since I've read articles and seen things from others that would indicate it's okay---I'm pretty optimistic it'll work!

Just thought I would share. I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes.

You should have no problems. Most of the phone today can handle the biggest memory card available, even if it says differently on the manufacturer's site or the manual. I my 6700 is that way. The manufacturer site & Sprint manual mention 1GB, but it dose take the 2 GB miniSD card.

Hi Kelli,

I am interested in knowing how your purchase turns out. I have bought many things off eBay, as well as sold many phones, and the persons feedback is the key. There is also a great company called http://www.newegg.com, and they are one of the best out there for peripherals and media. Bobo is correct, as long as it says SanDisk, or PNY or another big brand name, it should be ok. Please post your results after you use the card. Good Luck and have a great Fathers Day for you and your Hubby!

Hey all ! I got my card today. It is a authentic scan disk. came with the plastic holder and the adapter. I popped it in my phone...showed 991,000 or something like that. I loaded it up with about 40 or 45 songs (including Chris Daughtry songs!)and I still have like 881,000 or something.
So far so good! Can't beat it. A 1gb card for 24.79 plus shipping/tax = $44.69! A lot cheaper than the 89.99 that the verizon store wanted for the same thing!
If anyone wants the link to the seller ...I'll gladly give it to you. I'm going to try it out for a few days and make sure okay...but I'm sitting here letting it play right now...and it's just fine...going through each song
I'm a happy camper
