Default Amazon as indicator

I also posted this on the t-mobile forum of howards. However, I am actually more interested in the responses from the more genral crowd over here

---

I just checked the cell service offers on Amazon and what really striked me was that the top selling plans in many top markets are all from t-mobile. Often they have 4-5 of the top-five selling plans.

Do you guys think this is a general indicator what's happening in Q4 or do you think it's Amazon specific...

BTW, the other cell plans on there were from ATT, Sprint, Nextel. No Verizon or Cingular.

C.

It seems that Amazon promotes T-Mo more than the other carriers. They have more free T-Mo phones, more exposure on the site, etc. For "untrained" newcomers to wireless, the free phones and nice-looking plans are hard to turn away from. The interesting statistic will be how many of those customers stay with T-Mo after the contract's over. I'm just not a T-Mo fan, or a GSM fan at all (yet).

The only accurate measures are teh numbers released every quarter by the companies.

Amazon.com is a Silicon Valley company. They market primarily, even now, to the computer nerd element, most of whom are still in California busing tables at Lyons. T-Mo just launched in California five months ago. I'm not at all surprised.

That said, they probably have an agreement with T-Mo as well.
