Bored of watching WAP-only pages? Sony Ericsson P800 adds support for HTML, WAP, i-mode and more... and P800 comes to market within weeks.


Technical data about the browser:

Markup Languages: HTML 3.2 (excluding features not relevant to a small screen device), WML 1.2.1, WBXML, xHTML, BasicxHTML, Mobile Profile, cHTML

WAP version: 2.0.

Scripting: Compiled WML scripts.

Style sheets: WCSS.

Images: WBMP, GIF (including animated), JPEG

Bearer: GPRS, HSCSD, CSD

Security: WTLS Class 1, 2, 3; TLS/SSL.

Certificates: Pre-install & download WTLS, X509

WIM: WIM interface including SIM-WIM (SWIM)

Bookmark: import/export IrDA, Bluetooth, SMS, MMS, E-Mail.

Bookmarks: Yes, number only limited by available user storage.

Home Page: Yes.

Cache: 15 - 120 kbyte user-configurable; 30kbyte default.

Clear cache function: Yes

Hyperlinks: Underlined in text Image according to Style Sheet.

WAP Accounts (WAP Profiles): Yes. Integrated with bookmarks. Quantity only limited by available user storage.

OTA Support: Ericsson/Nokia OTA, WAP Forum Provisioning



You use the browser in Sony Ericsson P800 to:

Connect to the Internet to view and access Web- and WAP pages
View HTML and WML e-mail attachments
Receive and view Push messages from your WAP service provider
Download Java applications, images and audio



The browser can open web pages that does not use Java script or frames.

You can save bookmarks to viewed pages, to be able to access them easily. You can also save pages in the smartphone for offline viewing.

The browser uses folders for categorizing the information. The folders used are bookmarks, saved pages, signed documents, and Push messages.

Another nice feature: you can click on the link and make a phone call!
