Hi everyone I'm a french student in URI and I already have a phone. I'm looking if I can buy just a sim card. I will use it to send mainly SMS. Whith which company can I have the best conditions for it ? Also after I have seen prepaid phone card, do they work also from cellular phones or only from normal phones ? Thank you in advance Coucougnette |

i can't answer your sim card question........ though most likely you would have to inquire from T-Mobile as they are the dominant GSM carrier right now. as far as regular pre paid phone cards yes you can use them from cell phones as well as landlines..... basically when you use it on a landline the call is free because the access number is a toll free (800,888,877 etc) number......however calling all numbers will use airtime from your cell phone so the call will deduct from your minutes just like regular airtime......while the calling card will take care of completing the long distance side of the call...... in fact most cell phones have features in their phone books that allow you to program in Hard and Soft pauses so that you can speed dial the calling card access number then have it pause and then enter your PIN# of the calling card......thus avoiding the long process of entering all the digits. good luck. |
