Default which wireless companies can bill you for equipment purchases?

Q: What wireless companies (Besides Nextel) allow customers (consumer and/or business) to place equipment charges on their recurring bill as opposed to payment at point of sale?

I don't know how TM retail stores handle it, but if you order online from TM (handset upgrade, etc.) they just add it to your monthly bill.

Actually, I think TM stores have you pay when you buy - I bought a replacement headset and paid for it on the spot.

Pretty much all wireless providers add equipment charges to your bill if you purchase service via the internet or over the phone. I don't know of any that will allow you to purchase equipment at a sales office and have it billed to you.

I billed a VZW phone to my account a couple years ago when I was still with them, and I bought it in store. It was an additional line to an exisiting account though...not really a phone upgrade or new service.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure one can with Verizon. DD, switching from Nextel? I highly reccomend you avoid Verizon--heard nothing but horror stories from users at the beaches this summer. Heard all good things about Cingular GSM though....too bad I never made it down there.

Cingular can put online purchases in your bill. I don't think there is any company that forces you to go to a store to pay or bills you separately for equipment.

Sprint will let you bill any and all equipment charges to your bill, as long as your account is in good standing. I've always gone into a Sprint store for a new phones and accessories, and have never had a problem with them billing my account.

Oh, I also think it depends on your credit rating too.

Pretty much all of them unless it is pre-paid with a regular provider or with a pre-paid only provider such as Cricket.

with most carriers if you contact a business rep to order your phone they will bill you for it, most carriers retail stores will not.

And airb330 the beaches are fine for Verizon....from Myrtle Beach down to Hilton Head...Especially from Charleston down to Hilton Head, very few people use Cingular on the Coast of South Carolina....but I'm way of subject..

Thanks for your reply's. AB--> Verizon is good at the Delaware beaches, except a site in Lewes that was problematic for a month or so. Customers will go to analog in that area. But since I sell Nextel, I won't be switching.
