AT&T Wireless Pushes Into TeleCorp Markets By Kristy Bassuener August 13, 2002 news@2 direct AT&T Wireless today expands into 14 more states in a re-branding of recently acquired TeleCorp PCS markets. The carrier now offers its services in new areas in the Southeast and Midwest, including Des Moines, Iowa; Nashville and Memphis, Tenn.; Louisville, Ky.; Milwaukee and New Orleans. AT&T Wireless closed its $4.7 billion purchase of TeleCorp in February. ''Our acquisition of TeleCorp PCS was an important move to enhance long-term shareowner value,'' says Mohan Gyani, AT&T Wireless' president of Mobility Services. ''We're moving quickly to maximize the benefits of our expanded footprint.'' AT&T Wireless began upgrading its networks and offering services using GSM and advanced GPRS technology.
