If you are interested in nationwide no roaming and no long distance and looking for an alternative to Cingular Nation plan consider ATT's Digital One rate, I just switched from a Regional plan and they offer far more minutes than they advertise in their advertising a literature. The ATT representative I spoke to told me they are running an indefinite promotion which includes plenty of nights and weekend minutes and an additional 200 anytime minutes for each pricing level.

Since it is a "Digital" One Rate Plan, did you give up analog roaming?

I would like to know the details of the plan as well, and are unlimited nights and weekend available? I currently have the regional plan with 500 minutes, unlimited n/w, and free long distance. Analog roaming is included for my home area, which is the Southeast (NC, VA, GA, FL, SC, and about half of TN). edit: It appears as if they have just changed their plans, and elminated the unlimited n/w completely. At least that's what I get from reading the website. |

The plan includes analog roam as well as digital roam, if you can get a single in the US then it will deduct from the minutes in your plan. 200 additional anytime minutes added to whatever price level you select 1000 nights and weekends (I realize its not unlimited, which is what I used to have but since I never used even close to 1000 it doesn't m ake much difference to me but its probably something you would have to consider.

are the N&W minutes valid over the entire nation also? or are they only good in your home area?

Is this being offered in certain markets or nationwide? About time AT&T came up with something worth a look. Although, for me 1000 night & weekend minutes is not enough.

The "National Network" Plan is not the same as "Digital One Rate". National Network is a national plan in which you must stay on ATT's didgital network, there is no analog roam, this is similar to Voicstream or Sprint PCS Digital One Rate is national and there are no raoming or long distance chaqrges regardless of where you are. If you can receive a signal then you are fine, so long as you stay in the United States. This is similar to Cingular's "Cingular Nation" plan. |

Yes Kenny and the difference is with the National Network plan is quasi-national but it doesn't even come close to national in the map(Geez, I prefer GSM coverage over that), while the One Rate is truly national with no roaming, no LD like Cingular Nation except they don't offer night and weekend minutes and it's tight with daytime minutes. Although with the National Network plan they have nights and weekend minutes like Verizon AC and you can roam anywhere there's an analog or TDMA signal, but watch out for your wallet before roaming charges eat it!

Actuallly the Digital One Rate does offer N/W minutes, but they don't advertise. When I called and asked if they had any plans to match Cingular's Nation plan they told me they could add an additional 200 anytime minutes to whatever pricing plan I choose as well as 1000 N/W minutes. I choose ATT because one of the places I "roam" frequently is California, as well as florida and both have spotty service offerings from Cingular (especially California) but I guess if you asked 10 differtent Cingular or ATT customers they would tell you 10 different things.
