With the addition of protocol stacks to test the A, Ater, Aquinter and Aquarter interfaces, Catapult becomes the first company to provide simulation testing solutions for both of the major 3G wireless technologies -- UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) and cdma2000 (Code Division Multiple Access). The DCT2000 test system now supports all of the necessary signaling and user traffic connections needed to interface to the cdma2000 core network. Specifically, the DCT2000 now supports the A9 and A11 signaling protocols, the A8 and A10 GRE protocols, and the A1, A3 and A7 IOS protocols.

The cdma2000 technology is currently being implemented primarily in North America and Asia for remote wireless connectivity between computers and handheld devices, wireless transmission of streaming video, and other high-bandwidth network applications.
