It appears they have finally updated the coverage maps after about one year. But some maps look more up to date than others. For example the So. Cal maps only show new future coverage (which wasn't shown before). But the exsisting coverage areas haven't changed much (even though there has been a lot of new coverage added). In other words they are still somewhat outdated. They finally do show I-5 thru Camp Pendleton in San Diego with coverage. Other maps such as Witchita, Kansas have been updated better than the CA maps have. So I guess it depends on the market.

took them long enough! UPDATE: Sprint has updated the Vermont area map, though it is not accurate. It lists all of I-89 and I-91 as planned future service, where as of last month, is already active.

OMG they did it! The only new coverage in my area was long I-40 just west of Needles, which has been active for about 9 months.

Nice, I was there earlier, and wasn't updated. They now show the better coverage near my mom's house! Looks like DE is getting some new towers in the south, which corresponds to the tower maps.

Also noticed they added some planned future coverage along I-40 and I10 in Arizona and New Mexico. | |

Dudes and Dudets....If i am a carier...and I mak coverage maps...I am going to be Very Conservative with my coverage maps. Why? So you...my customers ...will be VERY HAPPY when you discover coverage in places you didn't exppect it. Also, factor in that the proper "tuning" of 1900Mhz wireless sites take, what, 6-18 months after it goes online? |
