Default AT&T Wireless, Cingular Start Merging Networks

AT&T Wireless and Cingular apparently aren't waiting until their merger is completed late this year to start blending their networks. The Boston Globe reported Monday that AT&T customers in a heavily populated corridor in the Boston area will receive free roaming on Cingular's network. The newspaper reported that the agreement would significantly improve the coverage of AT&T customers within large buildings where the AT&T Wireless signal is particularly weak. An AT&T spokesperson insisted that the deal, "is absolutely a part of our normal business practices."

Similar agreements were in place some time ago...Doesnt have anything to do with the merger.
