I will be completely honest with opinions that I give, here is what I think about what's going to happen: Verizon - Since they are an overall good company with coverage and customer service, I do predict a raise in customers for them. They may have expensive phones and plans, but they do appeal to many people who have awful coverage in places with other carriers. Over here in Long Island, though, it's "Can you hear me now?"...click click krzz click "Call Failed" in some areas. Not fun. Cingular - I have rarely seen people using Cingular everywhere I go and yet I still wonder how they have the 2nd largest customer base. I can't really say much for them and their share of customers, but I predict that they with either stay neutral or fall. Cingular has got some neat phones around, though, along with T-Mobile, the "Cool" providers. T-Mobile - I predict a strong increase in this company's customer database. I have heard that T-Mobile's customer service has improved greatly over the time I last heard about them and that their plans are still cheap and their network still bustling. They have also improved Long Island coverage, or so I can see it on my network searches, they appear in a few more places than they used to. In other places though, this is really the hip carrier and the place to go to. Sprint - I, like many other people, see this company's downfall of customers as of Nov. 24. All I can hear about Sprint is "awful customer service" and "So many dropped calls!" I have never heard much from Sprint users that is even adequate around LI, the only place I've heard positive comments about it really is here. If this company gains population, not only will I be shocked, I will even probably faint. Thank god at least there's wireless access to 911 out here Nextel - This company seems very stable and most likely will stay neutral. I can picture most of their customer base staying, as they currently have the most superior PTT network at the moment. I can't see much of a gain though, since Nextel's plans are expensive and really geared towards businesses. But their other customers will stay though, most of them like the Nextel network and won't give it up because of it's PTT superiority. AT&T - I have heard so many mixed comments about this company that it's crazy. This is indefinitely a toss-up and something I would love to watch. Whether it will decrease, remain the same or increase, nobody knows. The only thing I am positive of is some business customers fleeing, some of them report horrible coverage problems. What do you guys think? This will be crazy...I can't wait to see what happens. |

With regards to NexTel they could indeed see a large advantage with WLNP because they do have so much business interest. Businesses are the most reluctant to switch because of numbers but this removes one more barrier to switching to NexTel. By the way, I am not a NexTel fan at all -- but its just an observation.

I'm not sure where you are on Long Island, but I have never had a problem with dropped calls on Verizon. |
