Very cool, thanks for the article! I know businesses(especially the trades(plumbing, construction, etc.) and Vineyard workers and owners)are going to jump on that here with Verizon, we don't have Nextel service in our market(Lake and Mendocino Counties)here in Northern California. A lot of the Vineyard owners have Vineyards all over Lake, Mendocino, Sonoma and Napa Counties here on the North Coast, and currently only Sonoma and Napa Counties have Nextel, but all 4 have Verizon 1X Digital service. It will also be a hit in places like the Susanville and Alturas areas in NE California, as they also have Verizon but no Nextel service.

I was out in Napa about 2 months back, I didn't even think of that. But I do remember how good of service I got with Verizon, (actually everything was fuzzy by the 3rd vineyard, and I don't mean my cellular reception).

But your so right, that is going to be huge for the vineyards, where nextel isn't offered.

And just think overall, nextel doesn't have a nitch anymore. I don't know how there going to do it. I mean almost all of the top analysts, at money, business week, and forbes are still giving nextel grade A ratings even with this future knowledge of Verizon, and eventually sprint bringing on the PTT.

I mean what would be your worst nightmare if you were CEO of nextel, I think it would be the nightmare where the #1 carrier in the U.S. has the same technology that you base your business on.

Think about people, I'm not trying to diss nextel, but without PTT all they are is a Single Band digital phone carrier, (besides there few world phones) But I mean cmon I couldn't stand having a single band phone.

I agree, I mean, even with GSM phones you have multiple providers here in California(AT&T, Cingular, T-Mobile and soon Edge Wireless(AT&T Affiliate) ), Nextel is great, but if you have no Nextel, you have no service, period. The Vineyard workers will now be able to have PTT with Verizon here, they are ready, I know some of them. Hey, next time you're up this way, come on up to Mendocino County, we've got a lot of awesome vineyards, and they aren't as crowded or "stuffy" as the Napa set.
