Default How do you avoid the Sprint customer service fee?

I had heard that there is a way to call Sprint and not pay the customer service fee. Anyone have any suggestions (exluding actually speaking with a rep)?

Sprint no longer charges fees to speak with customer services....the only fees that are still being charged are the $5 fees to make payments in their retail stores.

I think it is SO STUPID for companies to charge you to pay in person. They get their money still, but I guess maybe the overhead...but I mean the store is already there! My Verizon store has a nice little computer thing one can pay their bill in, I dunno if they charge or not. I know CIngular charged my friend like 3 bucks, she was mad! She was leaving town, and had no stamps, etc. and figured it'd be better to stop on the way out...wrong! Now if she can't mail it, she pays by phone.

It is not the most customer friendly thing to do, but with the sales reps making most of their money by commission, It not real productive to have long lines of people making payments (I used to see this all the time....not so much now with the fees.) tying up your sales people doing admin work...

Default How do you avoid the Sprint customer service fee?

Originally that $3 fee was applied to Clear Pay customers. Which, secretly, most Sprint PCS customers are, and dont know it.

Clear Pay enables someone without perfect credit, to get phone service, pick ANY plan, and sign up for a year service, however, they are on a credit limit. Most have to pay a deposit. And you will know if you are one or not, cause you will be told, you have either a $125, $150, or a $200, or $250 limit. You also cant activate another phone, or add a phone till you have satisfied a 3,6,9, or 12 month contract with them.

Some Clear Pay members dont have to pay a deposit, some are asked, but not required, some are required. It all depends how well your credit is, and if you have had excellent, or derogitory credit in the past with Sprint.

The $3 fee, was a convenience charge to speak to a representative, because you can do ALMOST everything to your account online. I think it was bull, personally. I paid the fee maybe twice. Once when my phone was lost, and I needed to activate another one. I was pretty upset they charged me that $3, however, I was happy when they didnt charge me the $35 to activate another phone. TRADE OFF!

Sprint no longer charges that fee. The only one they charge is the $5 to pay your bill through a representative. They have about 6 or 8 different ways to pay a bill, so its another convenience fee. If you are going to the store, with cash or check, why not just pay that machine, and avoid the $5 fee. Simple. Just got to walk another 10 feet.
