Default T-Mobile Capacity

I have had no problems with using the T-Mobile system over the last year event though have added a lot of new customers. I live in Atlanta, and I have been in Tampa, New Orleans and New York City and I have experienced no problems.

I was just curious to know if T-Mobile is having any capacity problems in any part of the country?

Not in my experience....I'm in the greater Tampa Bay area, so you would have the same experience as me. My only gripe has been the lack of rural coverage compared to analog networks...but that's understood, and I'm basically a metropolitan man anyway....but, it's just nice to know....I guess time will cure that.

9.9M T-subscribers and growing....

For a few months, they had some serious capacity issues in Los Angeles - they use Cingular's cell sites but their own switches here. I think a lot more people went for T-Mobile than they anticipated, and they have to deal with some of the most persistent NIMBYs in the country here (want a tower in Bel Air? Get on the list and maybe it'll be done in five years). It has improved, but there are still voicemail problems - oftentimes the voicemail system will be overloaded, so it'll ring seven times and then go to a network-busy or a "We're sorry, your call cannot be completed at this time" error.

It's gotten somewhat better. I did have a capacity issue yesterday in downtown Glendale, but that's always been rough, even for Cingular.

I've had issues this past month in Atlanta with the message that your call cannot be connected. I also was unable to connect to the voice mail for about 5 days. I don't use my phone for business, so it wasn't critical enough for me to call Customer Service.

I use Cingular in the SF Bay Area when I am back home in California and so far I didn't have any problems. It could be that Cingular's improved since in CA/NV Cingular/T-Mobile rely on Cingular's network but use their own switches to process calls. But based on what I've heard about how Cingular was a year ago, I would think so far it's working all right.
