Question Verizon and Cingular - Text Messaging

Hello all,

I'm a bit confused by the number of wireless companies that seem to have merged over the past few years and wondered if someone could please clarify this for me.

Is it true that the following companies have all become part of Verizon?
Bell Atlantic
Vodafone AirTouch
GTE

Is it true that the following companies have all become part of Cingular?
AmeriTech
Bell South Mobility
Houston Cellular
Nevada Bell
Pacific Bell
Southwestern Bell

If so, does anybody know how to go about addressing text messages to customers of the merged companies? I'm talking about the text messaging address that you would enter into Outlook if sending a text message via regular email (e.g. #@vtext.com).
Are all the customers of the merged companies now receiving text messages under the same domain?
Does anybody know what the current domains for these companies are?
I've tried finding this information on the Verizon and Cingular websites, but it seems to be a difficult thing to do.

Can anybody help me?

To send email to any Cingular phone in the US you just put
10DigitNumber@mobile.mycingular.com

They already unified their messaging systems so it doesn't matter where the phone is from.
Now, if you are sending SMS from one phone to another, just enter the 10 digit number of the destination phone. Nothing else is needed.

What Bobolito stated is true for most networks in the US. Just enter the 10 digit number to address your text message. Sprint seems to be the only major that is not part of unified text messaging.
