Which phone Toshiba 2032 or Treo 300? What are the differences? Is the Toshiba better because it has expandability? It is bigger but what features does the Treo have over the Toshiba? THanks for any help with my decision. Only downfall I see with the Toshiba is the size.

It really depends on whether you plan to use the phone as a phone with PDA capabilities or a PDA with phone capabilities...are you more of a data or voice user. If you are a data user, I would recommend the Toshiba, if you primary use for the device is voice calls go with the Treo. I personally have used both...and carry both...(well sort of...I carry an HP Jornada with a Novatel Merlin aircard for data) and the Treo to sync with ACT and make my voice calls on. |

there's a pretty big difference between the treo and the toshiba. the operating system is a big difference. i personally prefer pocket pc over palmos because there are familiar programs included that sync up perfectly. pocket pc allows you to store information in folders much like windows, whereas palm os was a little more confusing. i owned both the toshiba 2032 and the samsung (which has similar components to the treo) and i prefered the toshiba by far. the blazer browser on the palm platform was terrible. i could barely view any websites and i was unable to "log on" to my bank websites or email sites. the downside about the toshiba 2032 is that i cant really use it as a phone. its not very practical. it is nice to use the speaker phone in the car, but thats part of the down side. you only have the option of using the earbud or the speaker phone. you cant hold it against your head. thats why i use a separate cell phone for voice calls, and i use the pda for web browsing and personal organizing only. it works out pretty great that way. sprint allows you to have 2 lines for free on an account if you subscribe to one of the higher plans. lines 3 and up are $20 a month. anyway get the toshiba 2032 if you want awesome web browsing that is far better than what youd get on a regular cell phone and even the treo or samsung phones. but if its primarily a phone, forget it! hope this helps. ALSO if you do plan on getting the toshiba 2032, you may have problems activating it. for some reason, the phone requires you to have the SAME MDN and MSID number or else it wont program properly. in order to activate the phone with two different MDN and MSID numbers is to program the MSID number in the phone as your phone number instead. the sprint people DO NOT know this. only one or two guys at sprint so far knew how to properly program the phone. to be safe, ask for a technician that specializes in the TOSHIBA 2032 or else the person at the other end of the phone is goin to walk you through a 16 step process that doesnt work. also make sure your user name and password are set correctly. good luck! |

I too prefer the pocket pc os over the palm however for smart phone applications...or people who will primarly be using the service as a phone and not a datacentric device, currently the palm phones are the best for this task...primarly for battery life...this should be changing once the Pocket PC phone edition begins selling...sure you will have limited pda functionality, but your battery life should be much improved.
