yes. you have to get an vision aircard. it will be a separate line from your phone. you can get unlimited vision data per month for $99......with the first 3 months price being $49.99.

I started with a sanyo 4900, with 8mb of throughtput. it worked ok. you have to buy a wireless connection kit which costs $30 to $70 depending on where you buy and what model phone you have.

Then I went to the novatel PCMCIA card. it works better, but the signal strength varies widely. Download speed varies minute per minute. It seems to average around 200 kBPS which is better than ISDN, but I saw ranges from 64Kbps to 300KBPS. It will drop you at least every two hours, and sometimes is seems like the DNS gets screwed up, because it will say that you are connected but you can't actually hit the web. i'm actually using it right now.

From what I understand, the new Sprinticon plans have a nice little loophole in them. Theupcoming data connection cables (I'm not sure if they're available for purchase on vision phones yet) will allow you to connect your computer to your phone and use your phone as a modem, albeit a slow one. The phone plans all include unlimited internet access now, so you won't be charged much more than you would pay for a dial-up connection. The rep I talked to about this said they would be "monitoring internet usage" and if the access became "excessive" it would be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Could be fun, potentially.... :-D

i just signed up with Sprinticon--including the unlimited internet and they said that there was a 25mb limit---so i guess they found the loophole

Hmm - I was told that on the new Vision plan (first 3 months free, $10 a month after that) the internet access is unlimited, whether it is just using the phone or using the USB connection kit with a laptop. And the Sprinticon Connection software allows either dialing Sprinticon Vision as the connection or a regular ISP. The USB cards are available from Sprinticon (currently on backorder) or from http://www.thesupplynet.com.

I think you need to clear your cache or turn off compression. Those are not accurate speeds. 1XRTT is limited to 144Kbps.

I can give you a Novatel Wireless Merlin C201 air card for free with the activation of a Sprinticon unlimited data plan. I personally use one of these and they are great! I live in an area where I can not get DSL or a cable modem so I use this air acrd. It is faster than dial up but not quite as fast a DSL yet and it works anywhere on the Sprinticon PCS network. Let me know if you are interested.
